The Missing Golf Club

The biggest question about the Anglo-American Club is whether the course ever actually existed. Quebec-based golf historian Alain Chapnut has spent summers searching for the remains of the golf course and has yet to find evidence that it ever existed despite a 1922 advertisement of 27 holes designed by A.W. Tillinghast and him talking about the difficulty in building the course.

More details on the missing golf course can be found in this article in Toronto Golf Nuts and the back and forth between Alain Chapnut and another golf researcher on Golf Club Atlas is interesting.

If anyone is an hour north of Montreal near Lac-de-l’Achigan and stumbles upon this course, please let us and the rest of the golf course know.
